Our mission is to create hats that are good looking, well designed and long lasting. We feel that putting on the right hat is like putting on that special pair of well worn jeans-comfy, versatile and endlessly chic. A great deal of energy and time goes into solving specific problems for our customers. The fit, feel and number of ways a hat can be worn are all considerations in the design process. Since I was a girl I enjoyed making beautiful things. After graduating from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in Fine Art, I studied Millinery with Ann Albrezio at New York City's Fashion Institute of Technology. Soon after I completed my degree I found myself selling my handmade hats to such stores as Barney's, Henri Bendel, and Fred Segal. In 1998 I opened my self named boutique, Lisa Shaub fine Millinery, in Nolita, New York City.
I have designed hats for the theatre, for runway, and for an extensive array of demanding, creative clientele. The majority of my work is one of a kind, but can be custom ordered in other colors and sizes. What I want is to create a hat that perfectly solves the problem. It could be to conceptualize a complicated hat for a Vogue photo shoot or to create a custom fascinator that is simple and elegant enough to be comfortably and happily worn by the Mother of the Bride.
I strive for excellence in fit and design, always remaining true to my inner voice. I feel satified that my work is well executed and inspires others to take fashion risks. I get many of my ideas from my customers, who visit from all over the world to purchase my products. A typical client may be a school teacher, a costume designer for TV, a professional athlete, an architect, a writer, an artist or an accountant.

We invite you to visit my new New York City hat showroom in the SOHO shopping district where I am always working on something new. There is a large range of one-of-a-kind products, all made here by me in New York City, and many of these may be custom ordered.
