Loopy Mango
Womens Clothing and Accessories Boutique
Since opening in SoHo in May 2010, Loopy Mango has responded vibrantly and bolstered fresh creativity back into SoHo's shopping district. Following a rather dismal time period and recession-fueled economy, Loopy Mango along with other independent shops in SoHo, have sought a home in an area previously only reserved for high-fashion retailers or nation-wide department store outlets. Reasonable and abundant spaces in the heart of SoHo have provided Loopy Mango and other boutiques a visible location and even more so, a dynamic shopping destination for the local community and tourists alike.
Loopy Mango is: a boutique where anyone can find anything; a space for exploring; a place for creating; and an experience for everyone. Loopy Mango features a curated collection which ranges from designer clothing, shoes and jewelry to antiques, home goods and furniture. Welcome to a treasure chest of trinkets and inquisition; our ultimate goal is to combine old and new to create something truly timeless.
About the space...
Situated in 2000 square feet on 78 Grand Street, Loopy Mango boasts a brilliantly restored space and showroom which features original wood paneling and exposed brick. The interior structure is defined by recycled yellow pine barn board which lines the ceiling and reclaimed bead board from a school in upstate New York. Original 1880 Victorian shutters enclose four dressing rooms and are complemented by a tin ceiling. Continue through the boutique to the backroom where one is greeted by a 15-foot skylight and purpose-built partition encased by replica ionic roman columns.
About the owners...
Loopy Mango is owned and operated by jewelry designer Waejong Kim and artist Anna Pulvermakher. Anna and Waejong met at FIT in the spring of 2004 and later that year they founded Loopy Mango just on a whim. Following previous Loopy Mango locations in the East Village and Brooklyn, the boutique is now permanently based in SoHo and has adopted a greater business boutique concept. Loopy Mango is now a complete lifestyle and accessories boutique and destination.
Loopy Mango crochet designs have been featured in Vogue Nippon and Elle magazines. Loopy Mango has also been featured in New York Times' Thursday Styles. Anna and Waejong have published Crochet Jewelry: 40 Beautiful and Unique Designs in the fall of 2007.
