Gemma Redux
The determined focus of Gemma Redux is to empower each woman with
confidence and femininity.
Growing up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Gemma Redux designer Rachel Dooley spent most of her childhood in a constant state of creative exploration. Whether she was crafting lanyard necklaces to sell at the community pool, smashing glass with a hammer for impromptu stained glass mosaics, or sewing and painting her own clothing, Rachel always explored the full potential of her creativity. It was Rachel’s interest in raw materials that led her to study mechanical engineering and material science at the University of Michigan, and her fiery spirit that took her to law school at Fordham University. While at Fordham, Rachel reflected back on her college design classes – the creative passion she had as a girl never left her, and it was her continuing desire to create and explore that steered her life on a path she hadn’t planned.
Taking a break from studying for the New York Bar Exam, Rachel made her first mixed-metal necklace from vintage and industrial materials. Gemma Redux was born. Within months, Rachel’s designs were appearing in publications such as Harper’s BAZAAR, WWD, Cosmopolitan, Glamour and Zink, and were featured on the successful fashion show, Gossip Girl. It didn’t take long for others to take notice, and trend-setters, such as Cameron Diaz, Blake Lively, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jessica Alba and Molly Sims, were seen wearing Gemma Redux. Rachel was also selected in 2009 to be one of twelve designers in the innagural class of the CFDA Fashion Incubator, a program established by the CFDA and NYCEDC to support the next generation of great American designers.
Rachel’s focus on exploring new stones and gems to blend into her collections continues to give Gemma Redux customers something new, season after season. Rachel explains this inspiration by expressing:“My passion is to find new materials and create unique silhouettes that evoke a sense of fantasy and discovery.” Gemma Redux collections are a combination of ideas and inspirations: geometric shapes and mathematical repetitions, a contrast of masculine industrial metals and shapes with feminine faceted stones and delicate metal elements. Despite these juxtapositions, the finished pieces are always fluid, serpentine, and delicate forms that organically envelop the body.

Piedrastudio
Piedrastudio is a graceful collection of accessories which evoke the dreamy quality of memory and reverie. As a child Talia Inbar would watch her grandmother dress for special occasions, completing each outfit with a beautiful piece of jewelry. As a teen, her cast-offs became talia's treasures and as a young professional, they distinguished her from the other women in dark suits. tALIA'S CONNECTION TO JEWELRY was deepened as she and her mother would spend hours going through her jewelry box, recounting the stories behind each special piece. Talia started making jewelry after her mother's death--in what first began as a creative and therapeutic outlet. Today this passion for jewelry is fueled by her memories; by a love of timeless design; and an obsession with texture and color. Piedrastudio reflects and interprets this in a modern way -- combining vintage treasures, gemstones and high-quality findings to create elegant jewelry so fresh and simple, you'll want to wear it every day.

Tavia sanza
Tavia Sanza embraced her love for art and creativity at any early age. As She started making jewelry at first with simple bead stringing, then increasingly complicated macramé and beadwork. In college she chose to get a degree in sculpture instead of jewelry, shifting focus and found insight into herself and
her art that allowed her to expand. But While working with art, Tavia found herself always drawn to creating jewelry.
I think I am attracted to the intimacy that we have with jewelry, it touches our skin, and is a part of who we are for a time. It effects how people perceive us and communicates to others our style and interests.
Sometimes I remember a piece of jewelry that I lost and all the memories wrapped up in it. Each piece of jewelry acts as a talisman that connects us. There is something comforting about that. I take the ideas and ispiration that I find in the art world and apply them to jewelry, because I can not be happy solely in either medium, they each offer something vital to what I wish to create. I have several lines of jewelry that I work on; most have a correlating art work.
