Black Buoy

Making its debut this February, Black Buoy, delivers its distinctive downtown fashion edge, as the exclusive retailer of innovative designers LOLA NY and Max & Suzanne, as well as downtown STATionary, vintage clothing, thrifted goods
and art books.

Back in the 70s in Sag Harbor, NY, there was a bar called the Black Buoy - a time when nobody had money and the drink of choice was a large pitcher of beer for $2.25. The creators of Black Buoy Online wanted the same attitude and fundamental values in a store that represented the fashion of the time when the Black Buoy Bar was alive. They hail inspiration and motivation from that upbringing in the Hampton's with Black Buoy parents in juxtaposition to the richness that is the Hampton's. That is what drives them to create fashion, which encompasses more of a lifestyle aesthetic rather than simply being clothes.

While taking steps to open up a flagship store, they realized that they wanted more people other than just New Yorkers to have access to the brands. That's why they created Black Buoy - an online store to reach and connect to more people on a global level. Black Buoy was envisioned to be a lifestyle reference guide.

All designers are fashion forward trendsetters in NYC, and viewers can visit Black Buoy, not only to see what's new in the life of the brands, but to be on top of styles.

Max and Suzanne

The aesthetic of Max & Suzanne is simple: timeless and classic dress wear, focusing on quality of production, fit and material and less on a passing trend. Hailing inspiration from growing up in the Hampton's, designers Max Barbaria and Suzanne Diaz understand the need for great dress wear that allows the individual to stay unique but still look put together at any time, anywhere. The entire brand stems from the single idea of the perfect dress shirt for men. From that, the collection grew to fitted women's shirts, shirt dresses, tank dresses, and bibbed unisex shirts, all in the aesthetic of the original idea.
