Daniele NicoleDanielle Nicole

B
orn and raised in Maryland, handbag designer Danielle Nicole DiFerdinando's passion for design began at a very young age. She concentrated on accessories; first designing custom neckties and ultimately found herself focusing on handbag design. This passion carried Danielle through the doors of Fashion Institute of Technology and later to Europe on study, where she became transfixed by the design and manufacturing process of the design houses: Fendi, Hermes, Prada, YSL, and Armani. From there, she aggressively worked her way to apprentice at prestigious companies such as Bergdorf Goodman, Gucci, Be&D, and Anthony Luciano.

In 2006, Danielle launched Danielle Nicole Handbags. By Summer 2007, the cosmetic buyer at Bergdorf Goodman recognized Danielle Nicole and asked her to design a line of luxury cosmetic bags. Soon, the handbag buyers were quick to notice the success of the cosmetic bag line and asked her to design a collection. Orders from Holt Renfrew, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, and many specialty stores across the United States soon followed. Danielle's collection of luxury handbags -- characterized by Italian lambskin, crushed patent leather and French embroidery fabric -- sets her apart from other contemporary handbag designers. She provides her clients with a fresh twist on classic styles, using only the finest leathers

Bryna Nicole Bryna Nicole

B
ryna Nicole Hubbs was born and raised in the San Francisco bay area. After graduating from UCLA, her interest in fashion was stronger than ever and she moved to San Francisco's marina district and enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM). She started working as a stylist and fashion consultant at a popular women's clothing boutique. She was able to cultivate her passion for putting the perfect outfit together and offered her services to many high-end clientele in the area. She found, however, that the perfect outfit was never complete without the perfect accessories. Adding jewelry, hats, and shoes was the best part, not to mention topping it all off with the essential look-completing handbag. This bag, unfortunately was hard to find, thus the first collection of bryna nicole handbags was created.

My ultimate design goal is to create a stylish handbag collection that portrays the mood of the woman carrying the bag. This mood can be confident and strong, innocent or playful - it is always a little funky and somewhat functional. The woman that I design for has a strong personal style and is fashionable and worldly. She appreciates fine fabrics and detailed construction. Items are meant to last from season to season, rather than fade with the latest trends. They are classic yet expressive and can represent personal changes in style from one outfit to the next.

A
lissia Melka-Teichroew, founder and creative director of BY:AMT Inc, formerly known as Alissia MT Design, is a New World-Old World mash-up. The daughter of a French mother and U.S.father, she was born and raised in the Netherlands. She is a graduate of Design Academy Eindhoven (The Netherlands) and holds a Master of Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design (USA). After stints in Paris, San Francisco, and Boston, she finally alighted in New York, her true home. She now lives and works in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn.

ALISSIA Design came into being soon after Alissia’s 2000 graduation from The Design Academy. The US version of ALISSIA Desgin, Alissia MT Design was launched in 2005 (re-named BY:AMT). While developing her own original projects, she also served a seven-month design residency at the renowned design consultancy IDEO and also worked on staff at Puma International. In 2006, she decided to concentrate on AMT full time. Alissia’s transcontinental background is reflected in her fluidity and fluency of her designs. Attuned to the latest design innovations, trends, and materials, she infuses her work with her own unique, charismatic personality and mischievous sensibility. Her products are savvy, sophisticated, and witty: the archetypical diamond ring rendered in candy-colored acrylic, ceramic plates folded in easy-to-hold shapes (Handful of Plates), a mirror that transposes the viewer’s face over an iconic image of feminine beauty (ME-ror). This uncanny ability to tweak expectations has delighted design cognoscenti nand consumers alike. ID Magazine, Nylon Magazine, New York Times and InView among many other publications, have featured AMT products. Hip boutiques around the world carry them, including the MoMA store and Conran Shop. Melka-Teichroew has also exhibited her work at the Salone del Mobile Milano, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York, 100% Design Tokyo, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Recent projects include, a modular series of branching clothes hooks, Tree Hooked, is collaboration with Jan Habraken of WATdesign. This partnership is a personal one as well, since Alissia and Jan wed in October 2006. Also the InsideOut Glass Collection is finally available via Charles & Marie, while BY:AMT is preparing to launch a new series of playful acrylic jewelry in stores.

The Tiffany-setting diamond engagement ring: design classic, symbol of marital bliss, emblem of our status-obsessed culture. BY:AMT’s jewelry line puts a playful spin on this icon. The Tiffany ring’s silhouette and basic shape remains intact, but rendered in many different materials, colors, and widths

Jean-Michel Cazabat

Jean-Michel Cazabat

Jean-Michel Cazabat, a native of Gascony in southern France, has been designing shoes for over 25 years. He began his career as buyer and Creative Director for legendary French shoe designer Charles Jourdan from the late 1970’s through the early 1980’s, and from 1985-1995. Cazabat later ventured to New York and served as president of the prestigious shoe brand Stephane Kélian, overseeing operations and developing product for the American market.

Determined to create truly exuberant shoes to fill a void in the luxury shoe market, Cazabat launched his colorful, ultra-feminine women’s line in 1999, followed by his rock-n-roll inspired, handmade men’s line a few years later. Allowing his passion for music, nightlife, spirited women and fine cuisine to dictate his design philosophy, Cazabat uses fiery colors, flirty silhouettes, whimsical details and exotic skins to create distinctive styles. Signature details include glitter-specked suedes, metallic finishes, and color blocking. Textural elements like braiding, piping, intricate strapping and top-stitching further animate his designs. From stylish refinement for business-wear, to brazen flamboyance for night-club wear, to subversive chic for everywhere, Cazabat offers styles for every occasion. Favored by performers, Cazabat’s customers include Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johanssen, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Rosario Dawson, Mary-Kate Olsen, Vanessa Williams, and Oprah Winfrey.
