This fall step beyond bold accessories and be downright ferocious. Candace Ang and Margarita Saplala have teamed up with an unbelievable collaboration. Their modern take on prehistoric elements, including not only spears, arrowheads and chunky stones but also and above all strikingly adorable dinosaurs with style. We are lucky to see this exciting collaboration for the second season in a row. The perfect pairing: Candace Ang noted for her flare with incorporating non tradition materials into her dramatic jewelry designs and Margarita Saplala creator of her fabulous trendy line of clothing and lively signature prints.

 
 
Margarita Saplala

Margarita Saplala was born in Mailam Philippines and moved to Chicago with her family when she was 2 years old. Margarita launched her eponymous line in 2006. Starting with mixed media such as prints and embroidery to create a ten piece collection of unique tee shirts and jersey dresses. The first sample she handmade in her east village apartment. The collection was instantly picked up by the hip downtown New York City boutiques. In 2008 the line grew into a wider selection of silk dresses and separates, focusing on her original prints. The collection continues to grow and diversify every season. She has now sold to select boutiques around the US as well as Barney's COOP , Tomorrowland in Japan and Harvey Nicholas in Dubai. Her printed dresses have become well known as prints for the "non-girly girl" The mix of prints and colors in one outfit presents a way of dressing that is fresh and playful yet uncomplicated.

Not afraid to challenge the conventions of jewelry design by using fabric and hand-sewn details to craft her signature statement necklaces, LA-based designer Candace Ang has gained a cult following for her edgy meets romantic designs. It was the Vancouver native’s background in clothing design that inspired her to get experimental with her love of jewelry, dabbling with materials like ribbon, satin, and silk as her inspiration. The result was dramatic fashion-forward pieces, like her Swarovski crystal encrusted silk charmeuse necklace and her black ruffle Pearl Bib necklace that has earned her praise in magazines like W, InStyle, and Teen Vogue. Immediately upon graduating from business school in 1998, Candace launched Supercandy Designs, a line of hair accessories that quickly evolved into a jewelry and accessory company. Through her work with Supercandy, Candace was inspired to pursue her dream of attending Parsons in New York to study fashion. she was noted for her collaboration with Urban Outfitters, the diffusion line consisted of hair accessories and jewelry, like adorable flower adorned headbands that are easy on the wallet yet high on the style radar. In 2005, Supercandy Designs became Candace Ang Designs, and introduced a line of fashion jewelry. Her jewelry has found a home in the most fashion forward boutiques in the U. S. and abroad.
