Named for proprietor Ashley Hanosh’s nickname, meaning “charming rascal,” Honey in the Rough brings a fusion of vintage femininity and modern sensibility to the Lower East Side of New York City. The boutique-meets-boudoir concept couples a sublimely edited roster of designer frocks with a complete line of makeup services. Here, a girl can get fully primped for a special night out or update her daytime look without the glaring lights of a department store fitting room and cosmetic counter. Leaving no aesthetic folly to chance, the offerings include a full-service, in-house beauty studio by makeup artist and brow-and-lash expert Rosie Rodriquez alongside Hanosh’s highly edited selection of dresses, accessories, and apothecaries.
