Ritual was established in 2006 on Broome St in New York City and was formally known to many as Exquisite Costume. The store quickly gained a reputation for stocking some of the most unusual , unique and rare pieces in the city as well as having a large collection of Historical clothing available right on the sales floor. Housed in a former carriage house turned store front in the famous Little Italy district, Ritual carries a rotating stock of sixties and seventies designer pieces alongside garments dating 1850-1940. The focus is on fine fabrics, details, folk art, handmade and unusual design.
Each piece is handpicked by Stacy Iannacone, Rituals owner and creator. When not in the store, she is scouring the country for the best she can find and sourcing for vintage for many projects and productions, most notably HBOs Boardwalk Empire. Ritual has provided Boardwalk Empire with over a thousand pieces of authentic 1920's clothing for this dazzling period drama. Ritual has dressed many well-known ladies on stage and screen and is a regular stop for fashion notables like Chloe Sevigny, Alexa Chung and Kate Hudson.
Ms. Iannacone is available for private consulting on historical and period projects, sourcing, and styling. She has over ten years experience in the vintage world and five in high fashion styling. in addition, Ritual maintains a large archive available for design appointments seven days a week. We have worked with some of the top design houses worldwide and love pulling together inspiration. Rentals are available for editorial projects.
